The Secret of Kells
Academy Award Nominee – Best Animated Feature!
Popcorn and fountain drinks available at concession counter only during 11AM shows.
2010 Oscar® nominee for Best Animated Feature Film, THE SECRET OF KELLS is a visually stunning tale of the power of imagination, faith, and art, in dark medieval times. Brendan, the young hero, lives in the Abbey of Kells, where he works to help his uncle build a wall to protect the cloister from barbarian raids. The arrival of a celebrated illuminator with an ancient, magical, but unfinished book inspires Brendan to discover his artistic vision and face his fears of the world outside the abbey walls. His quest takes him deep into the enchanted forest, where he befriends the fairy wolf-girl Aisling. Vivid and unique animation creates a beautiful fantasyland that transports the audience from beginning to end. Masterful, striking, and gorgeous, this award-winning Celtic fairytale from the producers of Kirikou and the Sorceress and The Triplets of Belleville is a brilliant work of art for generations to fall in love with.

Discuss This Movie
Fantastic animated movie, I see it eye-to-eye with Pixar’s “Up”.
From the mystifying story to the characters to the beautiful art design, it’s all around impressively made. It can be tragic to watch during its dark moments, but without its dark moments, it wouldn’t be as effective.

Does “Popcorn and fountain drinks available at concession counter only during 11AM shows.” mean that a full menu will be available during the 1:00 shows, or that no food or drink will be available at the 1:00 show?

Hey Jill,
We’ll do our best! It gets a bit tricky with showcasing so many films on single screen but we’ll definitely try to add more shows!
Purchase your tickets early (online) so you’re guaranteed to see one of weekend’s screenings.
Thanks for your support!

Hey Angela,
Unfortunately we don’t have an open evening slot for KELLS, so we’ll be unable to play it during the evening. But we may try to add a second weekend of matinee showings. Stay tuned to the website and our e-newsletters for updates.
Thanks for checking in,
Jordana

Delightful movie, great animation and colour, yes it’s suitable for children from 2 to 102. It was released in Europe early 2009, but for some strange reason not in the USA. I bought the DVD more than a year ago in European format. A family favourite - how many movies can you say that about? Tomm Moore deserved an earlier US Release AND the Oscar.
