Adam & Steve
"A wise, hilarious gay-marital romp...the entire cast is perfection!"— Michael Musto, THE VILLAGE VOICE
"[A] warm--and often hysterically funny--comedy about two decent guys who endure some really humiliating complications on the way to love."— Anne Stockwell, THE ADVOCATE
Inhabiting a post 9/11 New York, ADAM & STEVE follows the romantic trajectory of two people struggling to make love work in spite of overwhelming odds. Having met in the 80's after a disastrous one night stand, Adam (Craig Chester, Kiss Me Guido) & Steve (Malcolm Gets, Caroline in the City) don't recognize each other when they meet again fifteen years later. With the help of their best friends, formerly obese stand up comic Rhonda (Parker Posey, Waiting for Guffman), and straight guy ladies man Michael (Chris Kattan, Saturday Night Live), our protagonists fall in love only to realize, a year into their relationship, that they met before and unwittingly changed the course of each other's lives that fatefull night in the 80's. Now the question is: can they accept this and incorporate it into their current understanding of each other? Or more importantly, can they hold hands on the street without being beaten up?

Southeast Premiere!
Sundance Channel's eight-part original documentary series "TransGeneration" goes inside the daily lives of four transgender college students at campuses across the United States. Directed by Jeremy Simmons and Executive Produced by award-winning filmmakers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato (Party Monster, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Inside Deep Throat), this special feature-length festival version follows its subjects over the course of a school year, capturing their triumphs and struggles as they juggle the challenges of academia with their commitment to transitioning from their birth sex. Like college students everywhere, Gabbie and Raci (male-to-female) and Lucas and T.J. (female-to-male) are in the process of defining who they are, and taking control of their gender identity is a fundamental part of that process. The students are from different parts of the world as well as different social and economic backgrounds, and each is at a different stage of transition. As TRANSGENERATION joins the students in class and at play, with their friends and with their families, in private and in their communities, we come to know Gabbie, Lucas, Raci and T.J. as individuals, with unique experiences and outlooks.
USA, 2005, 83 min, Not Rated, Directed by Jeremy Simmons

El Favor
Southeast Premiere!
"Lively and hilarious, with very colorful, likeable characters as well as a refreshingly original plot that is full of pleasant surprises!"— Avi Offer, THE NYC MOVIE GURU
An Argentinean lesbian couple, Mora (Bernarda Pages) and Roberta (Victoria Onetto), urgently wants to have a child. But where will they get what's, um, needed to do so? A plan is hatched: Roberta will seduce and have sex with Felipe (Javier Lombardo), Mora's brother (coincidentally enough, Felipe artificially inseminates turkeys for a living). Sure enough, things won't go so smoothly. Felipe isn't easy to seduce, and when an unexpected visitor turns up with surprising news, everyone will get more than what they bargained for. Colorful and wacky, with non-stop demented twists and turns, EL FAVOR is as giddy and delightful as Almodovar's omnisexual comedy classics such as Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Do yourself a favor and join us for this muy funny delight. Adapted from Lawrence Ferber 's review for the Philadelphia Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.
Argentina, 2003, 85 min, Not Rated, Directed by Pablo Sofovich. In Spanish with English subtitles.

Winner - Best US Narrative Feature, 2005 NewFest New York Gay & Lesbian Film Festival
"Intriguing… notable for bringing a gay slant to Southern racist, lynching investigation-mode thrillers..."— Dennis Harvey, VARIETY
Set in contemporary rural Louisiana, STRANGE FRUIT explores the tribulations of William Boyals (hunky Kent Faulcon, Gabrielle), a successful New York lawyer and gay African-American who comes home to the life from which he escaped to investigate the lynching of his also-gay childhood friend, Kelvin. Amidst the sultry beauty of the bayou, William is forced to wade through a bog of conspiracy involving an insidious network of local law and a dangerously entrenched subculture. At the same time, he finds himself having to confront the reasons he left in the first place. The harder he looks, the deeper he gets, until the veil is pulled back to reveal a quagmire of racism and homophobia that threatens his life.
