"A clever and big- hearted gay screwball comedy!"- Lou Lumenick, NY POST
Alim (Jimi Mistry) is so caught up in the romance, style and dreams of old Hollywood that he thinks he’s living with the spirit of Cary Grant (Kyle MacLachlan). A young, South Asian Canadian based in London, Alim lives with a handsome, charming intelligent English boyfriend, Giles (Kristen Holden-Ried), who is completely unaware of his lover’s fantasy life. Alim and Giles are happy together, despite Cary’s presence, until Alim’s mother Nuru (Suleka Mathew) shows up for a visit. Totally unaware that her son is gay, let alone that he is living with Giles, Nuru has come to London to find Alim a proper Ismaili-Muslim girlfriend...

SUDDENLY
August 21 at 2:00 pm |
Suddenly
(Tan de Repente)
Winner - 2004 Glitter Award, Best Lesbian Feature, NY Gay & Lesbian Film Festival
"A delightfully unpredictable sleeper that proves new Argentine cinema really exists..."
-Deborah Young, VARIETY
In Diego Lerman's slyly comic drama SUDDENLY, a pair of knowing punkette malcontents (who call themselves Mao and Lenin) kidnap (sort of) Marcia, a frumpy lovelorn lingerie salesgirl. Mao announces her intention to seduce Marcia as the trio strikes out on a journey that is poignant, funny and unpredictable from beginning to end. As SUDDENLY careens in surprising directions, it recalls the offbeat humor of Jim Jarmusch -- but it retains its own special sensibility, the original voice of a young director who knows how to meld wit, pathos and edgy sexuality.
Argentina, 2003, 94 min, Not Rated, Directed by Diego Lerman, In Spanish with English subtitles

Saints and Sinners
Winner - Best Documentary, Q Cinema- Ft. Worth
"Five stars! One of the most effective, intelligent, mature and romantic love stories to come across the screen recently is, of all things, a documentary!"— FILM THREAT
After living together for seven years in a seemingly accepting community in New York City, Edward DeBonis and Vincent Maniscalco decide to get married. But unlike many other gay couples who formalize their relationship in a domestic union, Vincent and Edward, both devout Catholics, will settle for nothing short of the "Holy Sacrament of Marriage." Determined to celebrate their relationship on their terms, the couple presses on with the preparations. Several months of elaborate planning begin. From dance lessons to bachelor parties, floral bouquets to custom-made cake decorations, no detail is overlooked.
However, their efforts and search to find a Catholic Church where they can perform the ceremony are to no avail. For Edward, who grew up as an altar boy, and Vincent, who was baptized at Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Little Italy and who attends Sunday Mass regularly, getting married outside the Catholic tradition is not an option.

Cowboys & Angels
Winner - Best Screenplay, 2004 Newport Beach Film Festival
"Thoroughly engaging... suberb!" Chuck Wilson, LA WEEKLY
Set in Limerick, the story follows Shane, an alienated young civil servant who dreams of becoming an artist, and his roommate Vincent, a gay fashion design student. Vincent brings new life to Shane by introducing him to the city’s drugged-out club scene, where he finds escape, and to his best friend Gemma, in whom Shane finds love. With elements of an urban drama, romance, comedy and crime thriller, COWBOYS AND ANGELS is ultimately the story of young men grappling with the pains – and discovering the joys – of adulthood.
