Ashok Khosla (Adam Laupus), an aimless Indian-American copywriter, travels to India seeking an arranged marriage.  Guided by his well-intentioned but overbearing cousin Preeti (legendary actress Shabana Azmi, FIRE, LOINS OF PUNJAB PRESENTS), he meets with prospective brides and their families but has difficulty connecting across cultures.  After he encounters an American woman traveling through India and is set up with a conflicted Indian woman who unexpectedly captivates him, Ashok must navigate the complexity of cultural traditions and the leanings of his own heart.  A DECENT ARRANGEMENT is a contemporary comedic drama that shows us a different side of India than commonly seen by Western audiences as it explores ethnic identity and the choices brought about by the shrinking globe.  With subtle comedy and true-to-life drama, the impressive debut feature of Sarovar Banka is a rich and entertaining cross-cultural love story that resonates.
