Live Internet Broadcast Throughout 10 Day Event Introduces ‘Film Festival Girl’
Orlando, FL – (Mar. 24, 2010) – ENZIAN announced today the Florida Film Festival will launch a live streaming Internet television channel that will broadcast throughout the 10 days of the Festival on its website, www.FloridaFilmFestival.com. The Festival will take place April 9 through 18, 2010.
Online users will now have the opportunity to experience behind-the-scene filmmaker and celebrity interviews, exciting special event party coverage, in-depth industry panel conversations, and intimate question and answer sessions – all live as it happens.
“We’re thrilled to bring the excitement of this Festival to a world-wide audience,” said Henry Maldonado, President of Enzian and the Florida Film Festival. “We’ve partnered with innovators in Internet broadcasting and major players in traditional broadcasting to create an easy and accessible way for online users to connect and experience this event.”
This collaborative partnership includes Future Dog Entertainment, Bright House Networks and the Festival’s parent organization, Enzian.
Future Dog Entertainment, a web-based organization that develops programming and products for IPTV (Internet Protocol Television), will serve as the Florida Film Festival’s official live Internet broadcasters. Bright House Networks serves as a major sponsor of the Festival and will provide the broadband capability for the live-streaming programs.
The main on-camera host and personality for the channel will be a character developed for this project, named “Film Festival Girl.” This fresh and edgy character, played by Central Florida actress Mikki Scanlon, will navigate through the events and provide viewers an insider’s look into a major film festival.
“Our intent is for the Festival to move aggressively into this technology, extend our access to film lovers around the world, and have some fun while we do it,” said Maldonado.
The Florida Film Festival is a core program of ENZIAN, a nonprofit organization which exists to entertain, educate, inspire, and connect the community through film. 2010 marks the 19th year of the Festival and ENZIAN’S 25th anniversary. Combined, ENZIAN and the Florida Film Festival have served more than 1.5 million guests, premiered thousands of films and hosted hundreds of celebrities including Academy Award winners Paul Newman, Oliver Stone, Christopher Walken and Jon Voight.
