2012 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL COMES TO ORLANDO
Enzian Selected to Join New York, Boston and other City Theaters Nationwide for Exclusive Film Event

Orlando, Fla. - (Sept. 28, 2011) – Enzian joins a lineup of nine hand-picked art house theaters from across the country to participate in the 2012 Sundance Film Festival USA program, an event that sends officially selected Sundance films and their filmmakers to play before audiences in distinguished independent venues nationwide.

Other participating theaters include New York’s BAM, Boston’s Coolidge Corner Theatre and Nashville’s The Belcourt.  This will be the third year of the initiative and the 2012 event will take place Thursday, Jan. 26.

As part of Sundance Film Festival USA, held the second Thursday of the Sundance Film Festival, filmmakers will travel from Utah to the nine cities, courtesy of Official Airline Sponsor Southwest Airlines. In each city, the filmmaker will introduce and screen their film and participate in a Q&A with the audience. An introduction video featuring highlights from the Festival will precede each screening.

“Every year, our goal with the Sundance Film Festival is to make it an extraordinary event for those who attend, and with Sundance Film Festival USA, we’re bringing the Festival experience to independent film lovers nationwide,” said John Cooper, Director of the Sundance Film Festival. “In many cases, those audiences feel a connection to independent film because of the year-round work of their hometown theatres. Sundance Film Festival USA shows both our gratitude to these theatres for their contributions to the independent film community as well as our support and commitment to helping them grow their existing audiences.”

“Enzian has fostered a unique and passionate film-going community that’s developed over the past 26 years and we’re thrilled Sundance has acknowledged their importance as discerning independent cinema supporters,” said Henry Maldonado, President of Enzian.  “We look forward to bringing this event, a national salute to new voices in cinema, to Orlando.”

Film selections will be announced in December and tickets will be available for purchase on http://www.Enzian.org.
